Schedule Ease is the most comprehensive and easy to use scheduling
software available. It is the only product of its kind available
either commercially or through shareware. Since Schedule Ease
is much larger than will fit onto a 360k 5.25 inch floppy disk,
it is in compressed form, employing the (c)LHARC data compression
utility.
Before decompressing the files, you should make a copy of the
diskette for backup purposes. To decompress the files, simply copy
the files from the Schedule Ease distribution diskette to the drive where
the program is going to reside. This is usually to a hard drive, although
it is possible to decompress the files onto either a 720k or larger 3.5 inch floppy drive or 1.2 meg
or larger 5.25 inch floppy drive.
----------------------
**HARD DRIVE SYSTEMS**
----------------------
On a hard drive system, make certain you are at the system prompt and
create a directory for the Schedule Ease program files by typing:
c:\md Schease
Then, change to the Schedule Ease directory by typing:
c:\cd c:\Schease
Place the program distribution diskette into your A:\ drive and type:
(Substitute b:\ for a:\ if you are installing from the b drive)
c:\Schease\copy a:\*.* c:
From the directory prompt issue the command to run the decompression
program:
c:\Schease\program
----------------------
*FLOPPY DRIVE SYSTEMS*
----------------------
When decompressing the program files on a floppy based system, simply
copy the files from the Schedule Ease program diskette to the floppy drive
to which it is to be decompressed. For example, if the A:\ drive is the
360k drive containing the program diskette, place a blank formatted floppy
diskette into the B:\ drive and, at the A:\ prompt type:
a:\copy *.* b:\
When the files are finished copying, change to the B:\ drive and issue
the command to run the decompression program:
b:\program
-----------------------
**RUNNING THE PROGRAM**
-----------------------
Once the files are decompressed, there will be two program files on the
drive: Schease.exe and Schease.wkb. The compressed file, Program.exe,
should be deleted to conserve disk space by issuing the command:
c:\Schease\del program.exe
If you are running the program from a drive other than c:\, substitute
the proper drive letter in the above commands from the directory in which
the program files reside. For example, if you are running from a floppy
disk in the B:\ drive with no directories, simply type:
b:\del program.exe
Once the program has been decompressed and installed on your computer
it is started by typing: Schease from the directory prompt. Example:
c:\Schease\Schease
or
b:\Schease
The opening screen of Schedule Ease is the first page of the documentation
section. Not only will it supply comprehensive explanations of the
program's features, but also contains important information regarding
the science (or art) of scheduling and registration of Schedule Ease.
